Formula 1® and The Dream VR join-up for a revolutionary fan experience

A 360° and VR app available on mobile, smart TVs and VR headsets

Fans will now enjoy unique F1® content in the most innovative way

November 28th, 2018. Formula 1®, the pinnacle of motorsport, has reached a partnership agreement with virtual reality (VR) 360º providers The Dream VR. This will take the F1 fan viewership experience to the highest level with unique content of behind-the-scenes moments of a Formula 1 Grand Prix™ weekend.

Starting this month, fans around the world will be able to immerse themselves in a revolutionary 360°digital interactive entertainment and VR app. Formula 1 content will be offered to over 3 million users of The Dream VR, the world’s first 360º channel. This is the only provider capable of broadcasting 360° and VR content using a multi-device platform (TV, Apple TV, mobile devices, and VR headsets) and available in more than 180 countries.

Thanks to the new F1 VR and 360º channel, available on any device compatible with The Dream VR app, fans will be able to share in the excitement of the starting grid, podium celebrations and the Pirelli Hot Laps. They will also be able to ‘walk’ along the paddock, enter exclusive hospitality facilities, feel the adrenaline of a team garage and share the fans’ experience in the grandstand.

Users will be able to access content from the 2018 Mexican Grand Prix™, including behind-the-scenes footage of Lewis Hamilton’s fifth world title celebration. More content from the Formula 1® 2018 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be available soon, showing what pre-race nerves feel and look like. These engaging VR 360º experiences will be recorded at ten races next year and all content will be available at the F1® channel of The Dream VR app.

First experiences from the 2018 season will be made available before Christmas on The Dream VR app.
